KHAMMAM, APRIL 12. Srirama Navami festival will be celebrated at the Sri Seetha Ramachandraswamyvari Devasthanam at Bhadrachalam on April 18. Over 1 lakh pilgrims are expected to visit the temple town to witness the main event, Sri Sitaramakalyanam. Arrangements are on at a brisk pace for the festival and pandals are being erected by the Devasthanam around the Kalyanamandapam. The entire Kalyanamandapam area will be divided into 36 sectors and every sector will be provided with facilities such as drinking water and closed circuit television.
Ticket counters
The central reception office will function from the bridge point. Four more reception centres will function at the Kurnool Srinivasarao Sadan, Kalyanamantapam enquiry office, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Choultry and Taneesha Kalyanamantapam. Special counters will be opened for issue of Kalyanam tickets to the pilgrims at the Devasthanam Choultries, Sri Kodandaramaswamy temple, Cooperative Central Bank, Super Bazar centre and also near the Kalyanamantapam stadium. "Talambralu" will be distributed at all the ticket counters and prasadam sale counters.
Special buses
The State Road Transport Corporation will ply special services from the neighbouring districts and distant towns. The Police Department is making special bandobust in the Kalyanamantapam area, the temple premises and the bathing ghats. The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Endowments Minister, M. Satyanarayana Rao, and some officials will attend the Kalyanam. Pattu Vastrams and pearls will be presented to the deities on Rama Navami.
