KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 12. The Minister for Endowments, M. Satyanarayana Rao, has appealed to the former Chief Minister and TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, to reconcile as people have given verdict in favour of the Congress. Speaking to newsmen after participating in Praja Patham in four villages of Thimmapur mandal on Tuesday, he said: "You (Mr. Naidu) cannot remove us from power for five years. It is a democracy and people have voted us to power defeating the TDP for its `anti-people' policies.''
TDP `grilling' is ok
Nobody could take people for granted, he said, and added that Mr. Naidu's dream of remaining in power till 2020 had been shattered. In the West people change governments every term, he noted. About the TDP planning to grill Congress leaders during the Praja Patham programme, Mr. Rao said: "I am not satisfied with appreciation and applause and I want criticism so that we can rectify mistakes." The Minister claimed that there was a good response to the Praja Patham programme in the district with active participation by women and villagers. He clarified that they were accepting petitions and were not making any on the spot decisions. To a query whether Praja Patham was in tune with TDP's Janmabhoomi, he said: "I have not participated in the Janmabhoomi programme." The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, had taken a wise decision of organising Praja Patham for the benefit of people, he added.
