Meet to press for revival of peace talks

By Our Special Correspondent

ONGOLE, APRIL 12. Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC) and Human Rights Forum (HRF) will jointly conduct a State-level meeting at Hyderabad on April 14 to ask the Government to revive peace talks with CPI (Maoist).

In a press statement here today, the APCLC vice president, G. Venkatarao, said mediators between the Government and Maoists and civil rights activists and democrats will participate in the meeting.

He appealed to the Government to stop combing and encounters and create congenial atmosphere for reviving peace talks in the State. He also wanted the Maoists to exercise restraint and desist from bus burnings etc which will vitiate peace talks.

He demanded that the Government announce dates for second round of talks immediately.
