Ashok Leyland's higher sales
CHENNAI:,
Ashok Leyland said it had sold 54,740 vehicles during 2004-05, up from 48,654 vehicles in the previous year. At, 6,812 vehicles, exports had grown from 3,782 vehicles in the previous year. A release from the company said overseas markets accounted for one out of every eight vehicles sold. Out of the total domestic sales of 47,928 vehicles, the goods' segment contributed 37,137 units, up from 33,471 units in the previous year. Sale in the passenger segment stood at 10,469 as against 11,025 units in the previous year. Total production during the year under review grew from 49,148 to 54,525 units.
