Global award for Leela Kempinski Group
CHENNAI:,
The three properties of the Leela Kempinski Group of Hotels Mumbai, Bangalore and Goa have won the 2005 International Five Star Diamond Award. The Group Capt. C. P. Krishnan Nair, received the honour at the recently concluded ITB meet held in Berlin. Bestowed by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, based in New York, the award recognises the "commitment towards excellence in performance and service". Meanwhile, Capt. Nair, has also announced the setting up of a five-star deluxe hotel in Chennai by investing $120 million. The Chennai hotel would come up on a seven-acre site on the Marina beachfront. Work on the hotel was expected to begin this year and the opening was scheduled in 2008, says a release.
