THRISSUR, APRIL 12. A 54-year-old man was hacked to death allegedly by his son at their residence near the Triprayar temple this afternoon. The police gave the name of the deceased as Panissery Haridasan and that of the son as Saji alias Sajivan (30). The son had also reportedly hacked his mother Malathy who has been admitted to the Amritha Hospital, Ernakulam in a serious condition. The police said the son reportedly had some mental ailments, and soon after the act he informed his brothers in Mumbai and Muscat, as well as other relatives over phone. When the police came, he quietly accompanied them to the police station.
