Tailoring classes

ADILABAD: Applications have been invited from women for training in tailoring and embroidery to be given by the Indian Red Cross Society, (IRCS) Adilabad. Forms can be had from the office of the IRCS at the district Collectorate on payment of Rs. 2. Filled in forms should be submitted at the office on or before April 19. The interview will be held on April 21 and the list of selected candidates will be displayed on April 23. Those selected will receive Rs. 20 per month as stipend during the three- month training, according to a press release.

Poor-feeding

CUDDAPAH: Youth Congress activists organised poor-feeding at Sri Saibaba Orphanage here on Tuesday on the second death anniversary of a senior scribe, D. Amar Prasad.

At the programme organised by the YC district vice-president, M. Chandrasekhar Reddy, the Chinna Chowk circle inspector, Surendra Babu, and sub-inspector, K.S. Murthy, served food to orphanage inmates and assured assistance to them. The trainee SI, Ramachandra Reddy, YC general secretary, M. Ananda Reddy and Congress leaders, M. Navaneeswara Reddy, T. Venugopal, M.V. Krishna Reddy, Narayana took part.

Mock EAMCET

on April 15

CUDDAPAH: The SFI will conduct a mock EAMCET on April 15, in coordination with IIT Ramaiah, its town secretary, N. Sivaram, and joint secretary, P. Yaswant Reddy, said on Tuesday. The mock EAMCET basing on Intermediate syllabus was aimed at making students accustomed to the entrance model, they said in a statement.

Rehabilitation CUDDAPAH: Persons displaced by the Sri Brahmamsagar reservoir of Telugu Ganga project could apply for rehabilitation along with the copy of their compensation award and their complete address to the MRO concerned by April 30, the Collector, Jayesh Ranjan, said.

Villagers of Jangamrajupalle, Kothapalle, Obulareddipalle, Basavapuram, Cheekativaripalle and Gollapalle in Brahmamgari Matham mandal could apply for allotment of land as per G.O. 324, he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Auction

postponed

NELLORE: The proposed auction of the municipal corporation-controlled fish market of Nellore town, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, has been postponed following a representation submitted by the functionaries of Nellore Town Women Fisheries Industrial Co-operative Society, to the district Collector, B. Rajsekhar.

The society has been opposing auction on the ground of litigation and said the corporation authorities were acting unilaterally in collecting fees from only a section of traders.

Hockey body

meet

NELLORE: The executive committee meeting of the Andhra Hockey Association, held at Nellore, has decided to host the National Junior Hockey Championship at Pulivendula of Cuddapah district during July/August.

The other decisions include conducting of Andhra Senior Hockey Championship in Nellore district, Andhra Sub Junior Hockey Championship at Chittoor and the Junior Hockey Championship at Kurnool.

Yoga camp

TIRUPATI: K.V. Reddy, Inspector General of Police, who is also the Controller of the Legal Metrology Department, will conduct classes in stress management, self-healing and the art of living during a three-day yoga training camp to be organised at Tirupati from April 13 under the aegis of the Jiddu Krishnamurthy Educational Society. Free consultation by homoeopaths and free distribution of medicines would also be arranged for participants. The camp would be held at the Lakshminarayana Kalyanamandapam here in the Balaji Colony.
