KOCHI, APRIL 12. Welcoming the expulsion of former KPCC president K. Muraleedharan from the Congress party, T.H. Musthafa, MLA from Kunnathunadu, said that the action has been quite delayed.
Poll debacle
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, Mr. Musthafa, said that if the High Command had taken action earlier, the Congress would have fared better in the Parliamentary elections held last year. He said that the Congress would be back with renewed strength next time and that Mr. Muraleedharan's suspension or his threat of forming a new party would not affect the fate of the Congress. The Congress has shown more gratitude to party leader K. Karunakaran and his family than to anybody else in accommodating them in high places in the party or in the Government whenever the Congress has been in power.
Dynasty politics
Mr. Muraleedharan cannot cry hoarse about his expulsion, he said. He was warned by the party president and other leader a number of times against holding group rallies, Mr. Musthafa said. Dynasty politics does not hold good for the State, he said. It has brought doom to all politicians who had tried to promote their kith and kin, he added.
