CHENNAI, APRIL 12. The Chennai-Bangalore Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church has initiated rehabilitation activities for the tsunami-affected fisherfolk. Zacharias Mar Theopilus Suffragan Metropolitan, handed over two boats to the villagers at Vasavana Kuppam village near Marakkanam.
Each boat, costing Rs. 75,000, will be owned by three families. The next set of boats will be distributed within a week's time. The funds for the purchase of boats were donated by the parish members.
