TAMBARAM, APRIL 12. A knife-wielding duo assaulted two youths and relieved them of their gold jewels on the Pallavaram Thoraipakkam Radial Road on Monday night. Police said Sivakumar, a resident of Union Carbide Colony in Puzhuthivakkam, and his friend Prathap, were robbed while returning from Chromepet on a motorcycle. Around 8 p.m., the youths stopped their motorcycle on the roadside. Moments later, two men riding a motorcycle stopped and reportedly assaulted them with a knife. The men then snatched gold jewels weighing about five sovereigns from the youth, before fleeing. They also snatched their mobile phones.
