MUMBAI, APRIL 12. "It was a memorable and thrilling experience. The prince was very kind and heard us patiently," according to Raghunath Medge, president of Nutan Tiffin Suppliers' Association, who attended the wedding of Prince Charles with Camilla Parker Bowles in London on April 9. The association secretary, Sopan Laxman Mare, had accompanied him. Mr. Medge, said they had returned with gifts from the heir to the British throne and fond memories. Besides introducing them to the family members, the prince had enquired about them and conveyed greetings to other `dabbawallahs' of Mumbai. "We met everyone including Queen Elizabeth, Princes William and Harry and also the sons of Camilla,'' Mr. Medge said. The prince had met `dabbawallahs' during his visit to this metropolis on November 4, 2003. "We were helped by Maharani Padminidevi of Udaipur, the other invitee from India, in communicating with the prince. He was impressed with the gifts `pheta' (head-gear) and `saree' given by us. The `mangalsutra' carried by us was taken by the Prince's Secretary. He also received greeting cards carried by us." UNI
