HYDERABAD, APRIL 12. The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will deliver the keynote address through video-conference at a three-day international meet on project management being held here from April 15. B. Ramalinga Raju, Chairman, Satyam Computer Services Limited, will open the PMIPCC-Asia Pacific-2005 conference titled " Gyan Lahari--Knowledge Waves to unleash the power of Project Management". It aims at bringing academicians, entrepreneurs, students and industrialists to one place for creating greater awareness about professional project management. It is being organised by the Project Management Institute, Pearl City Chapter (PMIPCC).
Low awareness
Addressing a press conference along with Prahlada, Director, DRDL, and Ram Mohan Rao, Dean, Indian School of Business, the PMIPCC's secretary, A.V. Ramam, said the professional project management awareness in Asia Pacific region was low and there were just 12 to 15 per cent of PMI members in the region when compared to the rest of the world. The meet would cover five tracks--academia and professional development, industry-infrastructure and new product/ service development, global distributed delivery, IT management, corporate performance management, Government and society. The Project Management Institute is headquartered in Pennyslyvania, USA, and has 1,50,000 members worldwide.
