MUMBAI: The last fixture of the BCCI's domestic tournaments will be played between South Zone's Subbaiah Pillai champion, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Tamil Nadu's entry into the title round of the All India one-day knock-out tournament was on the cards, but Uttar Pradesh turned out to be the surprise packet. The Central Zone team with many fresh faces, first accounted for Punjab and thereafter knocked out the home team and the last year's winner, Mumbai in the semifinals on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu will take the field at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday without Sridharan Sriram who starred in his side's 27 win over Bengal. The left-arm spinner became the first bowler in the tournament to perform a `hat trick'. It turned out to be a lucky day for Sriram, as later in the evening, he was recalled by the national selectors for the last two one-day internationals against Pakistan as a replacement for Sourav Ganguly. For Uttar Pradesh it was the young talent in Suresh Raina who made the big difference in Tuesday's match against Mumbai. He took four wickets for 33 in ten overs and then batted for nearly three hours to make a half century and took his team into the final. "It's nice to see lot of new faces in the U.P. team,'' said former U.P. wicketkeeper Sunil Chaturvedi. The Teams (from): Tamil Nadu: Hemang Badani (Capt.), Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan, S. Suresh, K. Shri Vasudeva Das, Aniruddha Srikkanth, S. Badrinath, S. Sharath, Dinesh Kaarthick, C. Hemant Kumar, R. Ramkumar, R. Jesuraj, V. Yo Mahesh, M.K. Shivakumar.
