HUBLI: Activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and residents of Anand Nagar on Wednesday laid siege to a school run by a Christian organisation alleging that classes from I to IV standards are being run without permission. On verification by the Block Education Officer it was found that the school had permission to run only pre-primary classes and he has declared it as "unauthorised." In the morning, chaos prevailed for a while at Samaritan Reigns School, Anand Nagar, when members of VHP and RSS and residents took to task the teachers and staff in the school and demanded an explanation from them. They also wanted to know why girls are not allowed to wear bangles and sport bindi. As the explanation given by the staff and teachers did not seem satisfactory to the agitators, they even tried to manhandle some of the staff.
