Thundershowers likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at many places over Kerala and at a few places over Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:- Alapuzha 5, Kodaikanal and Kollam 4 each, Senkottai (Tirunelveli dt.), Kurnool 3 each, Kumbakonam and Tiruvidaimarudhur (both Tanjavur dt.), Ambasamudram and Ayikudi (both Tirunelveli dt.), Madikeri, Kochi Airport, CIAL Kochi, Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram dt.), and Kottayam 2 each and Thuraiyur (Tiruchirapalli dt.), Thucklay (Kanyakumari dt.), Dharwad 1 each. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature fell markedly at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, fell appreciably at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, fell at a few places over rest north interior Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, south coastal Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

FORECAST for Chennai City and Neighbourhood (Valid until Saturday morning): Partly cloudy. Development of thundershowers possible towards evening or night. Maximum temperature will be around 35 degree Celsius.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
