MUMBAI: Reliance Energy Ltd (REL) has revised completion schedule of its gas-based 3740 megawatt power plant at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, even while stating that gas supply for the mega project was not discussed in the meeting of REL Board held here on Thuersday. Emerging from the four-hour meeting of the Board, presided over by Chairman and Managing Director Anil Ambani, Board member Leena Srivastava told media persons that ``time schedule for Dadri (completion) has been slightly revised.'' ``The board did not discuss the gas supply'' situation for the Rs 10,000-crore project, she added. Ms. Srivastava declined to give the time-frame of the project's completion, reiterating that it has been ``slightly revised''. Another board member Gautam Joshi also refused to divulge information regarding the REL's prestigious project, saying it is for the company to tell. The Dadri project, announced with much fanfare, was earlier scheduled to go on stream in 2006-07 but Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), in its Board meeting early this year, had revised its completion schedule to the year 2007-08. The mega power plant is to get its gas supply from Reliance gas wells discovered in Krishna-Godavari basin a few years ago. The Union Cabinet had recently cleared Reliance investment proposal for the same. Earlier, in a statement issued after the Board's meeting, REL said the Company has acquired and taken possession of 881 acres of land for the project from the Uttar Pradesh Government, adding that acquisition and transfer of the balance 119 acres of land is in an advanced stage of completion. The statement further said REL has got clearance for chimney height from the Civil Aviation Department of the Uttar Pradesh Government. It has got a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the U P State Pollution Control Board, as also a clearance for usage of water from the State Irrigation Department, the statement added. -- UNI
