BIDAR: Tension prevailed in Chincholi (D) in Aurad taluk when a flagpole collapsed after the flag was hoisted during the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations here on Thursday. Members of the Dalit Sangharsh Samiti and Gouthama Buddha Yuvaka Sangha alleged that the incident amounted to insulting Dr. Ambedkar. They said they would not allow the celebrations to continue till the Deputy Commissioner, T.K. Anil Kumar, and the Superintendent of Police, Umesh Kumar, arrived at the spot. They also demanded disciplinary action against the officials in charge of the arrangements.
