BANGALORE: The Karnataka Haridasa Scientific Research Centre will organise a three-day national seminar from July 5 here on water scarcity in the country and the lack of consensus on measures to tackle it. The seminar will focus on the magnitude of the problem and the feasibility of the remedial measures suggested, a statement from the centre said. It said scholars and academics in the field of water management may submit their papers to it on the dependability of projections regarding water security; the imbalance between demand and supply and the factors influencing it; the inadequacies of conservation techniques adopted; the role of multipurpose dams; and innovative plans for water supply, such as interlinking of rivers.

Preliminary papers should be sent to Vijaya Ranga, 17th Cross, Vijayanagar, Bangalore 560 040 or e-mailed to khsrc@bgl.vsnl.net.in before April 30. The final papers should be sent by May 31.
