SANGAREDDYADILABAD: Tempers ran high at the 115th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar here on Thursday with almost all Dalit NGOs blaming the Government of inaction. The Minister for Tourism, J.Geeta Reddy, District Collector Anil Kumar Singhal and Superintendent of Police B.L.Sujatha Rao were present. The SC Rights Protection Society demanded action against the officials involved in the `chappal scam' of Social Welfare residential schools, while others alleged unabated atrocities on Dalits. The Kula Vyatireka Porata Samithi said that the Congress Government had cheated the SCs who voted them to power. A few MRPS activists tried to obstruct the speech of the Minister. The police had to intervene to bring order into the meeting. Later, Ms Geeta Reddy announced that the municipal stadium at Sangareddy would be named after Dr. Ambedkar. SANGAREDDYADILABAD: The Ambedkar anniversary celebrations were held here here on Thursday with the Adilabad MLA, C. Ramchander Reddy, and the district Collector, J Sudha Rani, participating in a number of programmes arranged locally. The official programme was organised at the Ambedkar Chowk. The MLA and the Collector appealed to the youth to follow the principles of Dr Ambedkar.The Joint Collector, A. Dinakar Babu, the Indira Kranti Patham Project Director, G. Gopi,the Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer, S. Rajaiah, and the Revenue Divisional Officer, Ashok Kumar Naik, participated.
