AHMEDABAD: The former Defence Minister, George Fernandes, said on Thursday that the National Democratic Alliance would launch a nation-wide agitation from April 25 in protest against the UPA Government's bid to harass the Opposition leaders. Referring to the Centre's additional affidavit in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, ordering fresh probe by the CBI in 23 more defence deals, Mr. Fernandes said it was indicative of the Government's design to harass the Opposition leaders on one ground or the other. "We will have to tell the Government that we are ready to face any situation if it is out to harass the political opponents," he said. He wondered whether the present Defence Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, should "be hanged" because the AJT aircraft deal signed about 25 years ago had still not materialised and the pilots were suffering because of the delay.
