KOCHI: Admiring and enjoying theatre is indicative of the culture of a society and lack of interest in staging plays points to degeneration in the cultural ethos of the people, said M. K. Sanoo, literary critic. He was speaking at a function organised by the Kerala Fine Arts Society to honour KPAC Sulochana, the singer-actress of KPAC theatre group, which had made a mark on the stage of yesteryears. KPAC had come to the stage with new enthusiasm and message half a century ago. Its drama `Ningalenne Communistakki' made waves in theatre. The success of the play owed to the convergence of talented persons like Thoppil Bhasi, O. N. V. Kurup and Devarajan. KPAC Sulochana, in her short speech, exhorted youngsters to have dedication in their field of work.
