HYDERABAD: The birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated at several places in the State capital by several organisations on Thursday. At the Rail Nilayam, the General Manager, South Central Railway, D.N. Mathur, said Baba Saheb Ambedkar was a `Yug Purush' who rose above everything leaving behind an indelible mark not only in history but also on the minds and hearts of all. The zonal president, All India SC/ST Railway Employees Association, V.V. Naik said the Dalit community had found a father figure in Ambedkar and his relentless efforts for the welfare of Dalit employees had paved the way for their recognition in society. The Central Excise and Customs SC and ST Employees Welfare Association celebrated the day at a function at the Office of the Chief Commissioner attended by Commissioner, M.V. Bheem Rao.
