HYDERABAD: The Secretary, Municipal Administration, S.P. Singh, on Thursday directed the Uppal municipality authorities to commission an unused overhead service reservoir at Elugutta to improve water supply in the tail end areas of Uppal. He accompanied a special task force team of the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board and inspected the water supply position in various slums in Uppal municipality and Habsiguda areas today. The HMWSSB MD, B.P. Acharya, visited Addagutta, North Lalaguda, Lalapet, Shantinagar, Tarnaka and Marredpally areas and enquired with people about the water supply position. He also inspected the works on a Rs. 1 crore project to improve water supply and prevent its pollution in Aryanagar and Ambedkar Nagar slums of Lalapet area.
