58-year-old charged with molesting minor

A 58-year-old man was arrested by the Chaderghat police on charge of molesting a minor girl at Old Malakpet in Chaderghat police station area on Thursday.

The accused, Razvi, a former physical education teacher, allegedly lured his eight-year-old neighbour to a secluded place offering chocolates and molested her, the police said.

Online telephone directory scam?

The owner of an online telephone directory, Ravi Raj Goud, who promised incentives to his agents in cash and kind for bringing in advertisements, allegedly cheated them by closing his office on Thursday.

Three persons, Shaik Saheb, Venkateswara Rao and Moinuddin, approached the Nallakunta police saying they had collected money from several customers for advertisement on Goud's website -- Alekhya Yellow Pages -- and given it to Goud, who suddenly closed his office in Nallakunta and disappeared. He even owed them commission.

Forged passports: 2 held at airport

Two men were held at the Begumpet airport on Wednesday on charge of possessing forged travel documents.

While Mohd. Haneef, 28 of Karnataka, was caught when he landed from Dubai, P.N. Lasman, 36, of Nizamabad district was deported from Dubai. Both were accused of pasting their photographs on someone else's passport.

Fake policemen relieve woman of gold

Two pseudo policemen relieved a housewife, Prameela J. Shaw, 58, of gold ornaments weighing 10 tolas after diverting her attention in Ramgopalpet police station area on Wednesday.

A resident of Rasoolpura, the woman was walking on Minister's Road when the two warned her against wearing jewellery saying an offence was committed in the area. They persuaded her to remove the jewellery, packed it in a paper and returned it to her. The victim went to a temple and opened the packet only to find stones inside.
