M.L. Melly MaitreyiWorkshop to start from April 25
HYDERABAD: Pleasures of mathematics? Yes, you heard it right. Once you know the easy techniques, some compiled from various sources and some evolved, one is bound to agree that mathematics can be fun and interesting. "Even I was scared of mathematics until I was introduced to its magic by a gentleman three years ago. It spurred me to put together various techniques from different systems to make speedy calculations, however big and complex a number may be," said 55-year-old Gamini Rangayya. Be it addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or squares or cubes of several digit numbers. They can be arrived at faster than a calculator through these magic mathematical techniques, he said giving a demonstration. Rangayya, a Rajahmundry-based trader and a commerce graduate, has authored a book `Pleasures of Mathematics' and has been conducting workshops for children and adults. The workshop for children in the age group of 8 to 15 years would commence at Media Junction, a Centre for Education beyond curriculum in Hyderabad from April 25. The centre is also organising other interesting workshops. Details can be had on 93913-25568.
