New Delhi: Indian shuttlers had it easy in the opening round of the Velo Dutch Open badminton championship at Wateringen on Friday. Anup Sridhar defeated Jan Vondra of Czech Republic 15-8, 15-6, while Arvind Bhat had to work hard to beat Andreas Woclk 15-5, 10-15, 15-5. Thomas Kurien, who had to qualify for the main draw, also moved into the second round with a 15-5, 15-1 win over England's Simon Hardcastle, according to information received here. PTI
