Letters to the Editor
This refers to the editorial "Government without credibility" (April 15). It has glossed over two important facts: First, millions of Iraqis defied gunmen and voted in the elections. Secondly, they elected the only legitimate Government between Istanbul and New Delhi. Given time and encouragement, the Iraqis will be able to invest their Government with stability and credibility. It is in the interests of the world community and an established democracy like India that Iraqis do not go the Pakistan way of controlled democracy.
