Letters to the Editor
It is a pity that the Centre has declared April 18 as a holiday in view of Rama Navami. We have far too many holidays. Because of pulls and pressures of political parties, it has not been possible to cut down their number. Is this not a criminal waste of time and precious resources? Has any survey ever been conducted to determine what percentage really participates in the festivities during Rama Navami or Janamastami? Holidays should be restricted to the Republic Day, Independence Day and October 2.
Seethalakshmi Nagarajan,
