A varsity release on Friday said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) had sanctioned Rs. 34.5 lakhs for starting a specialised MBA course in banking technology. The MBA will be made available in association with the School of Management and the Ramanujam School of Mathematics and the varsity's computer science department. Engineering graduates in computer science and IT, graduates with Mathematics or Statistics as one of their subjects, postgraduate diploma holders in computer applications and B.Sc (Computer Science) and the Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) degree holders, are eligible for the course. The new course is intended to impart necessary know-how and skills required to handle both hard and software components of the technology used in banking and finance.
