PONDICHERRY: : The People's Agitation Committee, set up by employees, political parties, non-governmental organisations, has intensified its agitation against the Centre's move to make the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) an autonomous institution. In a release today, the committee said the Centre should continue with the administration of the JIPMER by the Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi. Making it autonomous would affect patients, students, and employees.
