CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government will give a new orientation to the education system, fill up all vacancies of teachers, lecturers and principals of colleges and set up a National Law College in Rewari district to make the State a destination for quality education. Announcing this at a conference of Principals of Govt. colleges here on Friday, Education Minister P. C. Mullana said that the Government would encourage alliance between industry and academics as participation of private sector in education was essential to prepare manpower in consonance with the demands of industry. The National Law College would be set up with the help of the Central Government. Honours classes would be started in all Government colleges situated at district headquarters and it would be ensured that there would not be more than 60 students in one section of any class. Expressing concern that the underprivileged sections of society had not been given their due, he said that scholarships would be awarded to those belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes. The quota of students belonging to these sections of society in admissions and recruitment would be honoured.
