THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: : The Minister for Tourism, K.C. Venugopal, has said that the Government will impose strict control on the functioning of ayurveda massage parlours in the State. Addressing a delegation of the Indian Association of Travel Agents (IATA), who met him on Friday, the Minister said that the Government would closely monitor the functioning of massage parlours. It was decided at the meeting that the Tourism Department would prepare a project for cleaning up the cities of Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in consultation with the corporation authorities and hotel owners. He assured that the question of unifying vehicles taxes with those of other States would be raised at the Conference of Tourism Ministers to be held in Hyderabad shortly. The Minister said that a main centre of Kerala Travel and Tourism Studies (KITTS) would be set up in Alappuzha.
