City college signs agreement with Danish business school

Staff Reporter

MoU will pave way for student, faculty exchange

CHENNAI: : The Jaya Group of Colleges has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Danish Koge Business School on academic cooperation.

The agreement will facilitate student and faculty exchanges and internship opportunities for Indian students in Denmark and vice-versa. It will also help in joint development of educational software for export and multimedia and graphics resources.

There is no point in setting up a business school if students are not encouraged to start their own business, A. Kanagaraj, chairman, Jaya Educational Trust, told a press conference.

Mona Engberg, head of the Danish delegation, said education was a priority in Denmark, a nation of only 5.5 million people. It was essential for Danish students to get a global understanding.

"We have to go out into the world and find partners to learn from."

"Students are becoming more mobile these days," said Jorgen Heramb, international coordinator of the school.

Under the European Union's Asia Link Programme, the Koge Business School planned to launch a bachelors-level programme, under which students would study in Denmark, England, China and India.
