Fire safety training for cinema theatre staff

Officers of the Andhra Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services on Friday conducted training programmes for employees of cineme theatres throughout the State as part of the ongoing Fire Services Week. There are 2,065 theatres in AP.

The DGP, Fire Services, Alok Srivastava, listed careless smoking, short circuit, overload of power, arson and transformer fire as causes of fire accidents in theatres. He suggested that theatre managements take 22 minimum fire safety measures. - Staff Reporter

Holiday on April 18

A general holiday will be observed on April 18 on account of Sri Ramanavami, instead of April 17, the State Government announced here on Friday. A notification issued by the GAD in the name of the Chief Secretary, Mohan Kanda, said the announcement was a partial modification of the GO dated November 10 last year on general holidays and optional holidays for the year 2005.

Transco Lok Adalat

The next sitting of the Lok Adalat for the Andhra Pradesh Transco will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. at the Mint Compound to hear and settle cases of consumers of the Central Power Distribution Company of A.P. Limited, according to a press release.

Change in bus route

The route course of the RTC bus, Rt. No. 90M/S between Saidabad Colony and the Secunderabad station has been deviated via Bhavani Nagar, Dwarakapuram, Vidyuthnagar and Ganeshpuri Colony with effect from Saturday. The bus will depart from Saidabad Colony at 6.49 a.m., 9.16 a.m., 1.10 p.m., 3.27 p.m., 5.53 p.m. and from the Secunderabad Station at 5.41 a.m., 7.58 a.m., 10.24 a.m., 2.19 p.m., 4.35 p.m. and 7.01 p.m.

PG exams

The second and fourth semester examinations of all P.G. courses (regular) of Osmania University will be held from April 25 while the first and third semester examinations would be held from May 10, according to a press release. The detailed timetable is available on www.osmania.ac.in.
