District Youth Congress leaders against split

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The Youth Congress office-bearers in the district have said that they are against a split in the party.

Addressing mediapersons at the Ernakulam Press Club, the district president of the Youth Congress, Paulachan Maniamkot, and the general secretary, Peter K. Elias, said that they were unwilling to leave the party. "Weakening the Congress is the same as weakening India," they said.

"We have informed the leaders of the faction that wants to split that we will not be with them if they left the party. Rather than be leaders of the new faction, we prefer to be ordinary workers of the Congress. We will participate in Saturday's regional rally organised in Kochi by the KPCC," Mr. Paulachan said.
