THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Neyyattinkara Police have arrested a youth in connection with the murder of Rosamma, a 72-year-old retired teacher who was staying alone in her house in Venpakal. The police have identified the accused as her neighbour, Biju Kumar, 26. They are looking for Pramod, who owns a video rental shop in Neyyattinkara. The Circle Inspector (CI), Neyyattinkara, C.G. Suresh Kumar, said that Biju Kumar and Pramod had entered Rosamma's house by removing the tiles on the roof in the early hours of April 3. The accused smothered Rosamma and decamped with Rs. 50,000 and gold ornaments kept in her almirah. The accused had also made an attempt to break the front door of the house, he said. executed the murder for financial gain.
