BELGAUM: The Dalit Sangarsh Samithi and Sarvodaya Karnataka have condemned the desecration of statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Nippani on Friday. In a press release issued here on Saturday, the District Convenor of DSS, Gireppa Kolkar, said that it act is not only a black spot on the peace-loving and secular fabric of Nippani town but an attack on the Constitution.
Appealing for the peace and communal harmony, the two organisations have demanded the arrest of the miscreants responsible, failing which they said they would launch an aggressive agitation. A meeting of Dalit leaders to chalk out future course of action has been called at Ambedkar Bhavan in the city on April 19.
