Addressing Ambedkar jayanthi celebrations on LIC divisional office premises yesterday, Mr. Ramulu said reforms introduced 13 years ago led to closure of many public sector undertakings and retrenchment of employees. As Dalits were the worst-affected section by unbridled privatisation, the demand for reservations in private sector was gaining strength, he stated. The LIC Employees Association divisional general secretary, B.V.S. Raju and LIC Senior Divisional Manager, M..K. Bhuktha, also spoke.
