Youth ends life
Depressed over not getting a job, a 23-year-old youth, P.N.V. Jagan (23) died after reportedly consuming poison at his friend's residence under the Punjagutta police limits on Friday. The police said Jagan had come to the city a few days ago and was staying with his friend at Yellareddyguda. On Friday evening, while his friend was away, Jagan is believed to have mixed some chemical in water and consumed it.
Woman killed
A maidservant, B. Manila (35), was beaten and stabbed to death allegedly by her husband, Raju, under the Neredmet police limits in the small hours of Saturday.
Due to alleged harassment by Raju, Manila was staying in the servant quarters at her employer's house at Sainikpuri. Around 2 a.m today, Raju went to her quarters. Then he allegedly thrashed and stabbed her. The woman's employer rushed to her rescue, but to no avail. Raju is at large.
