JAMMU: Welcoming the Pakistan President's visit to India, displaced Kashmiri Pandits today urged him to undertake renovation of the famous Sharda Peeth in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, so that pilgrimage to the shrine can be commenced by Pandits from Jammu and Kashmir. ``We welcome Musharraf's visit to India as it will bring down walls of hatred and mistrust. We urge him to direct his administration to renovate famous Sharda Peeth shrine in PoK at the earliest,'' NRI Kashmiri Pandit leader B.L. Raina told reporters here. ``If the renovation is undertaken at the earliest, displaced Pandits can commence pilgrimage to the shrine,'' Dr. Raina said. Kashmiri Pandits have great attachment with the Sharda shrine, as it was a centre of spiritual education and learning in ancient times, he said. . PTI
