Siddarth enters final

BANGALORE: H.S. Siddarth will fight it out with M.C. Srivas in the boys' under-10 singles of the Mehul Sirur memorial sub-junior badminton championship at the Canara Union courts here on Sunday.

Swathi Poorvisha scored a hard-fought 11-7, 13-11 win over Sangeetha Udupa and made the girls' under-10 singles final. She now meets Anisha D. Karumbaiah, who beat Reshma 11-2, 11-1.

The results: Boys (under-10 singles): Semifinals: S. Siddarth bt Vishwanath Kiran 15-3, 15-8; M.C. Srivas bt Sharan Pillay 15-6, 15-3. Quarterfinals: Siddarth bt Suraj Shetty 15-2, 15-4; Vishwanath bt Vishal 15-5, 15-1; Srivas bt Nachiket 13-15, 15-3, 15-9; Sharan bt B.R. Sankeerth 15-11, 15-0.

Doubles: Semifinals: Siddarth/Sharan bt Sankeerth/Mithun 15-4,15-5; Vishal/Shivnaik bt Nachiket/Suraj 15-11,15-12.

Girls (under-10 singles): Semifinals: Anisha D. Karumbaiah bt Reshma 11-2, 11-1; Swathi Poorvisha bt Udupa 11-7, 13-10. Quarterfinals: Anisha bt Ashika 11-2, 11-0; Reshma bt Chinmoy Desai 11-2, 11-0; Sangeetha Udupa bt C.P.S. Jeevana 11-0, 11-0; Swathi bt Sindhu Bharadwaj 11-2, 11-0.
