FERVENT PLEA: The Andhra Pradesh Minority Employees Welfare Association publicity secretary, S. Afsar Basha, addressing a meeting in Cuddapah on Sunday.
CUDDAPAH: The Andhra Pradesh Minority Employees Welfare Association on Sunday demanded five per cent reservation to Muslims in education and promotions. Addressing the association's executive meeting here, its publicity secretary, S. Afsar Basha, said the demand was represented to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He called upon Muslims to take part in the Milad-un-Nabi celebrations from April 21 to 24. The district president, Tajuddin Arif, who presided, urged the Government to accord reservations by accepting the BC Commission recommendations. The joint secretary, S. Shafi-ur-Rahman, wanted Muslim employees listed department-wise. An executive member, Mahabub Khan, wanted PRC soon.
