Congress to commemorate Salt Satyagraha

KOCHI: A march will be taken out by Congress workers in the State to commemorate the Salt Satyagraha. The march will be held from Kozhikode to Payyannur from April 20 to 25, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) general secretary, Kodikkunnil Suresh, said at a press conference here on Sunday.

The All-India Congress Committee leader Ahmed Patel will inaugurate the march at the Kozhikode beach. The KPCC president, Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, and the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, will take part in the programme. The Congress Working Committee member A.K. Antony will participate in the meeting at Payyannur on April 25.

The march will reach Vadakara on April 21 and Thalasserry, Kannur and Taliparamba, respectively, on the following days till April 24.

Answering questions, he said the Kerala Congress leaders R. Balakrishna Pillai and T.M. Jacob were raising allegations against the Chief Minister because they were denied posts of Minister. No one would be allowed to destroy the UDF.
