Theatre screen damaged, but show goes on

Special Correspondent

CUDDALORE: Miscreants on Sunday damaged the screen at Lena Theatre at Chidambaram, which was showing the Kamal Hassan starrer, `Mumbai Xpress'.

During the intermission of the noon show, a group slashed the screen with blades and escaped through the rear gate.

However, the show went on. Since the release of the film the Dalit Panthers of India leaders were demanding that the name of the film be changed.

A couple of days ago, the Dalit Panthers of India district secretary and office-bearers met the manager Anbu and reiterated their demand. Mr. Anbu reported the matter to the police.

On April 13, some posters and hoardings of the movie put up near the theatre were found damaged.
