Training programme

for women concludes

The six-day training programme in vocational skills conducted by members of the Women World Organisation, concluded on Sunday. Training in skills like fabric, glass and pot painting was conducted for women on the premises of Tunuguntla Rama Devi Municipal Elementary School at Madhuranagar. The former corporator, A.Sunitha, presided while the former chairman of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation's Standing Committee, P. Gowtham Reddy,

was the chief guest.

Medical camp

To mark the 55th birthday of the Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, the party city unit vice-president, K. Nagamalleswara Rao, will conduct a two-day free medical camp at his residence on April 19 and 20.

A team of doctors from the Usha Cardiac Centre and the Andhra Hospitals will conduct blood cholesterol test on patients. - Staff Reporter

condemned

The president of the Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham, Kolli Nageswara Rao, on Sunday, condemned the police firing on oustees of Thotapalli project.

In a press release here, Mr. Rao asked the Government to pay compensation and announce rehabilitation package for the oustees. - Staff Reporter

Bank's gesture

The chairman and managing director of Andhra Bank, T.S. Narayana Sami, on Sunday, handed over a cheque for Rs. 3.5 lakhs to the president of the Senior Citizens Forum, Chukkapalli Kusalava, here. Mr. Sami announced a contribution of Rs. 5 lakhs to the forum when he visited it in December last and handed over a cheque for Rs. 1.5 lakhs on the spot as part payment. - Staff Reporter
