Call for broader unity among Hindus

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The NSS general secretary, Narayana Panicker, has called for a broader unity among Hindus. He was addressing the State convention of the Akhila Kerala Brahmana Federation here on Sunday.

Mr. Panicker said the Hindu community had been neglected in allocation of educational institutions. A few other communities were enjoying most of the privileges from the Government. Only a stronger Hindu force would be able to curtail this trend.

N.Narayanan, vice-president, All India Brahmins Federation, in his speech, called for creation of a Hindu vote bank. M.Sambasivan, Soumya Parasuram and T.M.V.Shenoy were among the speakers.

Earlier, the federation adopted a resolution that said that the Narendran Commission report should not be implemented. In another resolution, it demanded that the Nedumbasserry airport be named after Adi Sankara. A third resolution demanded handing over of the Tirumala Devaswom Medical College, Alappuzha, to the Gowda Saraswatha Brahmins who had started the college.
