Mystery shrouds couple's death
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A young couple, working in an income tax consultant's office in the city, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Ghatkesar on Monday. A note purportedly written by him and his woman companion and a couple of half empty insecticide bottles were recovered from their bag suggested it was a suicide pact.
The Ghatkesar police believe that the two died after consuming insecticide.
"We're yet to ascertain reasons that might have driven them to take the extreme step," the Inspector, P. Ramulu, said.
K. Srinivasa Rao, 24, of Parsigutta and Kalpana, 20, of Padmaraonagar, were going from Keesara to Ghatkesar on a bike at 1.30 p.m. On reaching the Kondapur village panchayat office, they suddenly fell down unconscious. Passers-by, who rushed to them, grew suspicious when they found smell emanating from the bag.
On opening it, they saw two half empty bottles of insecticide and a letter with a telephone number that was subsequently traced to the consultant's office in Secunderabad.
