PONDICHERRY: Unidentified persons murdered a 51-year-old man in his house on Monday night. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Sunil Garg, said the motive for the murder was not known. A special team has been formed to nab the culprits. The deceased, Joseph Anthone Rishmond, lived with his mother in Rue Bazar Saint Laurent. Joseph's mother, Rose Rishmond, said the incident happened at around 10.30 p.m. "Someone knocked at the door and my son opened it. Three masked men entered the house, sprinkled chilly powder on his face and smothered him to death," she said. She said they overpowered her and removed two rings from her, searched the entire house and left.
