RAJAHMUNDRY: The Director-General of Fire Services, Alok Srivastav, said that a `no objection' certificate from his department for multi-storied buildings will be mandatory from July. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday after holding a review meeting of fire service officers, the D-G said that builders or individual owners of buildings that are two-storied or more have to fill a form stating that they had constructed the building in accordance with fire service norms. He said that the same form can be obtained from all e-Seva centres and the software is getting ready to deliver the same. He said that they had identified 351 buildings in Hyderabad and 100 in Visakhapatnam, which had violated fire safety norms. He recalled that the buildings that violated the fire safety norms in some other cities were penalized by disconnection of power and water and they were planning to follow the same.
