Congress (S) meeting in Mavelikara from April 29

ALAPPUZHA: The district conference of the Congress (S) will be held in Mavelikara on April 29 and 30, the party leaders said here on Tuesday.

At a press conference, the president of the party's district unit, Kottarathil Ramachandran Nair, said the conference would begin at 9 a.m. on April 29 with the hoisting of the party flag.

The district general council meeting would follow it. The council would discuss the political and organisation reports in the afternoon session.

The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (S) president, Kadannappally Ramachandran, would inaugurate the delegates' meeting at 9 a.m. on April 30. Karakulam Krishna Pillai, N.V. Pradeep Kumar and Sulaiman Rawthar would speak.

A seminar on "Left parties and the United Progressive Alliance Government" would be held at 11.30 a.m. that day. Leaders of various Left parties would participate.

A public meeting would be held at Mavelikkara Transport Ground in the evening.

The Congress (S) parliamentary party leader, in the Assembly, V.C. Kabir, would inaugurate the meeting. Mr. Ramachandran Nair would preside over the meeting.
